24 hour cycling, climbing, swim-run racing, ultra running, yoga, ironman, expedition leader and full time firefighter.  You can see why food is important to me. Everything from gels to jam sandwiches has featured in my race nutrition. You’ve got to try everything, and that’s where fuelit has hit the nail on the head. I’ve raced the Ironman World Champs in Kona, after multiple IM podium finishes, been Firefighter Ironman World Champion and there are plenty more adventures to come… just watch this space.  I’ve got a new challenge on the horizon where nutrition is going to be more important than ever, look out for a future blog!
I met fuelit founders Huw and Jon during a 24 hour bike event, and loved the concept. Food, or ‘fuel’ as the keen folk like to call it is key, not just for top performance but also for enjoying what you’re doing, which is, let’s face it, the most important thing. While on race day you should stick to what you know, how do you know there isn’t better out there? And who wants to eat the same bar session after session? Not me.
I’ve got 2 ironman races coming up, a 24 hour bike ride, and a long swim-run race in the next few months, so I’m going to see how quickly I can work my way through the entire fuelit range.
